Abstract

L'auteur revient sur un article publié dans le numéro de janvier 1996 d'ORIENTATIONS (Vol. 27, n°1, 1996, pp. 16-30) concernant une sculpture en laque de la dynastie Yuan représentant un boddhistava dans un style népalais. Un morceau de tissu restant sur cette statue avait été daté au radiocarbone entre 990 et 1230 apr. J.-C., soit avant la date présumée de la statue. Cette note commente le résultat de la datation au radiocarbone à la lumière de tests radiocarbones réalisés ultérieurement sur d'autres échantillons de la sculpture
